Virgin Money Fireworks Concert

The 2018 Edinburgh International Festival comes to its traditional outdoor finale –AUG. 27, 2018– with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. After a jaunty first half selected from Bernstein’s West Side Story Concert Suite No. 1 in honour of the composer’s birth a century ago, conductor Clark Rundell will launch into Holst’s cinematic Planets Suite – reinforced by a choreographed display of over 400,000 fireworks from the castle above. Whether in the audience in Princes Street Gardens, listening to the speakers on the bridges or simply observing the fireworks from across the city, everyone can enjoy some of this iconic performance.
